Through The Eyes Of Orion

Through The Eyes Of Orion

“Through The Eyes Of Orion” by Vytko Icaro (2023). Painting on blackboard 61x31 cm / 24x12 in. Mediums used are acrylic paint and varnish.

Orion gazes upon the heavens and sees not just distant stars and galaxies, but a reflection of the soul's journey. Each celestial body becomes a metaphor for the inner workings of the self – the shining stars symbolizing our aspirations, the dark voids representing our fears and uncertainties. By observing the cosmos, we gain insight into our own inner landscape, recognizing that the universe outside is but a reflection of the universe within.

The zodiac wheel, seen “Through The Eyes Of Orion”, becomes a sacred path of initiation and transformation. Each sign represents a unique facet of the human experience, guiding us through the cycles of growth, transformation, and rebirth. Each astrological archetype becomes a brushstroke on the canvas of our existence, guiding us towards a deeper understanding of ourselves and our place in the cosmos.

Eyes of Orion are aware of the interconnectedness of the cosmos as a sacred ecology, where every being, every star, every planet is woven into the intricate web of life. Just as every brushstroke is connected to the whole painting, so too are we connected to the vast fabric of existence. Like petroglyphs and pictographs of our ancestors, art becomes a portal to the otherworld. It is a spiritual bridge between the seen and the unseen, the known and the unknown, mundane and divine.
